Wow what a winter it has been. Snow, snow and more snow. Things here have been going great at the farm. We have all been surviving the blizzards and making it through the cold. I would like to welcome Bethany and her 3 horses to our farm. We were finally able to dig the trailer out and go pick them up in VA.

What a year it has been for ELS. We have redone a farm, moved 400 miles, done a good bit of showing, and made lots of new friends. With all that said we are very excited to announce that we will be moving back to Maryland. We are looking forward to going back to what we feel is our home. We will be back in Poolesville and running ELS out of Gone Away Farm. It has a lovely indoor and outdoor and a very nice grass ring too! We will be back in Maryland by the end of September and everyone is looking forward to it. I will do my best to keep you updated while we are trying to get moved, although I beleive that in another week or so I will be packing up the computer. You may continue to reach Owen on his cell number which is 301-538-3011 and I will update all of our other contact info as soon as I have it.

We all had lots of fun and Owen was excited to have George Morris and the Derby winner John French sign his new Derby hat. We are looking forward to a great week of riding and lessons.

We decided last weekend to stay home from Fox Hollow and not to make the drive to Bristol. We had a lovely weekend catching up on things at the farm and riding. Owen spent the week teaching his new students, Abby, Lauren, and Elizabeth doing lessons and having lots of fun. We decided this weekend to brave the heat and go to the horse show at West Wind and boy was it hot!!! Tori and Cool Hwip moved up to the Mini Hunters and started putting courses together. She got 2 3rd places and a fifth place on the flat and then she won the Handy Hunter class. Melanie showed Everlasting Candy Girl in a few Schooling Hunter classes before her and Owen decided that the heat was too much and scratched Everlasting Candy Girl and her other big girl Everlasting Blonde Ambition for the rest of the day. Mel and Candy ended up getting 2 3rds and a fifth in the Schoolings. Jen and Chance braved the heat to do the Special Hunters and they ended up champion in that division and then they were 4th in the 2'6" Classic. It has been a good couple weeks since are last update.

What a great weekend at Wyndfield Oaks Horse Show. The courses were well done, footing was great and it was a very well run show. Tori was out for the second time with her new horse Cool Hwip. She did fantastic in the beginner hunters winning a first, third and a fifth and Cool Hwip was lovely. Melanie and Everlasting Blonde Ambition made a great comeback this weekend after Blondie had a few weeks off after getting reserve in her Childrens Hunter Class at Upperville. This weekend they were champion in the Childrens Hunter on Sunday. Mel and Everlasting Candy Girl (see her on the sale horse page) also had a great weekend together, they were Champion in the Schooling hunters both days and reserve champion in the equitation and they won the 2'6" classic. Jen and Everlasting Chance had a very successful weekend. They were champion in the Special Hunters both days and they were champion in the combined Adult Equitation.
We had lots of fun and are looking forward to our show next weekend at Fox Hollow.
